We went to visit Gary's folks today, I really like there new house I think they will be very happy there. Last week we found out that the medication MD Anderson had me taking didn't work so we are going to start chemo again after Thanksgiving. I have been feeling pretty tired but that is nothing new. I was disappointed last week when they said the medication didn't work and that the tumors had gotten worse, our best bet now is to hope that the chemo therapy will reduce the tumors.
I have been trying to work on my sewing room there are several projects I need to finish and I am hoping to have them done by the second week of Christmas. Gary has been working on getting our yard winterized it is starting to feel like fall is ending and winter is about to rush in...
I can't believe that Thanksgiving is only two weeks away it just amazes me how fast time fly by...

Okay were starting fresh

I have been working on a quilt that is two years in the making thank goodness my friend doesn't know about it or she would think I am crazy......I am quilting it by machine in a feather stitch, it is turning out pretty nice.
I'll take a picture of it tomorrow when it is finished.
California is in a state of emergency, there are wild fires every where, it is so sad so many homes are lost and the wild life is suffering, horses are scared and don't have any where to go. My sisters home is very close to the fires, she hasn't had to evacuate yet but it's close. Shelena say's the sky's are so black and the santa anna winds have been horrible. Gary and I were talking and we decided that we need to have a fire box with our wedding pictures and family photo's in it since for us those can't be replaced...So if I only had five minutes to pick-up and leave I will grab our dogs, our fire box and a change of clothing...I hope all of you have a beautiful day....

Hi all, were here in Houston, we arrived yesterday, the flight was good if not a little crowded. We arrived at our Hotel to discover that it wasn't what we wanted if we had been in our 20's it would have been different it was clean and serviceable but just not what we had in mind so we called around to the other hotels that house MD patients and we were able to get a very nice room at the Holiday Inn Select for the same price, this room is lovely and a great place to stay for any length of time...Today we had our intial visit and a group of doctors will get together tomorrow to discuss my case and will go back at 3:30 for the dispostion with Dr Kavaughna, so hopefully we will have some good news.... So will check in tomorrow....Huggles Tina

oh I am so bad it's been a long time since I wrote . We had some bad news four weeks ago, my cancer has spread to my lungs and it is multiplying, it has also spread to the vulva area, I just finished 15 days of radiation and Gary and I leave for MD Anderson in Houston on Sunday we are going there for a second opinion so say some prayers for us. Not much else has been going on we are all staying out of trouble and trying to keep our minds active and busy so we don't worry to much....

Saturday Night

Well it's been a couple of weeks since I last wrote, I'm doing great, just a little tired and I am looking forward to my week break from chemo therapy. We will be leaving for the east coast on Monday with Ron and Georgene, I am looking forward to our trip and visiting with old friends. Our niece Amy is living with us right now, I just love having her here with us she is sweet and funny and a good cook. Gary has been very busy at work it seems this summer he has been away from home more than normal.
I have taken a break from reading the past couple of day's, I am getting ready to read Nicholas Sparks Autobiography I am going to take it with me on vacation and I am trying to teach myself how to knit a scarf, Penni sent me a wonderful kit last year for my birthday and I am still working on the flower scarf I am making hopefully by the time winter arrives I will have it completed.
The dogs are trying to stay out of trouble but for Blueto it is hard trouble follows him where ever he goes, but oh he is just so cute....We had a nice 4th of July, we went over to the Karst family annual 4th of July Picnic and had a great time eating all the great food and watching all the fireworks that everyone set off and then we watch Blue Springs professional display which was nice but past years have been better, It rained for half the day so I think the Fire Works must have gotten damp....
Our vegetable garden is just beautiful we had our first BLT's tonight with green fried tomatoes which were just yummy. I also made a nice cucumber salad that was very yummy. Not much else has been going on... Huggles Tina

Sunday Afternoon

It's a beautiful day on the home front the weather is perfect. We have had a nice weekend we really haven't done much but that's okay my energy level is low right now. I went to the gym three times this week and walked on the tread mill and did a little weight lifting.
Yesterday we went to a Pizza shop in Liberty and had Chicago Style Deep Dish Pizza it was yummy!!! then we came home and watched a movie, Monster House it was great, I love animation.
Monday is chemo so I won't be doing much for the next couple of day's.
I'm still working on my butterfly quilt and I need to start quilting the smaller quilt I was working on for my friend. I think tonight Amy and I are going to a free concert in the park here in Blue Springs it should be a nice evening for it. Well I'll write more later.. Hugs Tina

The day after chemo, feeling tired but good. I went to sleep around 4am and woke up around 10am not much sleep, I'll try to take a nap later today. I am off to the gym to walk on the tread mill and work on some weight machines. I think Gary and I are going to join weight watchers and see if we can stick with it and loose some weight so wish us luck....
Well last week was my last week of baby sitting so Gary and I will be free to spend more time together again while he is home and I am working on a new butterfly quilt that I think is going to be just beautiful....I'll take some pictures and post them soon.
I just finished reading a new Cait London book 'The Edge" it was great suspenseful with just enough romance for me.
Well I am hoping to keep up with my blog now that I have more free time....Huggles Tina

It's raining here in MO, the rain is soft and it's great for our garden. Loss of Hair

Well I had my new stint placed today the procedure was pretty simple it only took 10 minutes for the procedure but two hours to get ready for it. I'm pretty sore but that's okay better sore than not able to go to the bathroom....Oh no a little more information than you wanted to know Huh???
Gary is going to take care of my hair today it is falling out in clumps in certain places so were just going to give me a crew cut that way it's not so noticeable...I'll take a picture when were done... I think it's time to invest in a few new hat's for the summer my old ones are getting pretty wore out and I need a change, if you know what I mean.
Kara Gene will be here tomorrow for half the day and then she has her 4 month check up, time sure is flying bye like Lily said before I know it she will be crawling and getting into all sorts of things.
We had another change of plans for my sewing room, it looks like we are going to put it in the spare bedroom, the office is going to be taken down and we are going to convert our old desk into a sewing table it's U shape It is going to look great. Now we need to see how we can insert my machine down into the desk so that the sewing surface is level if any of you have any ideas please share them with us...
Okay last but not least I'm reading "To Sir Phillip With Love " by Julia Quinn so far the beginning is great...

Good Mornig

Well the weather is strange today I got up to rain, it is thundering and they say we have more severe storms coming in for a few more hours. Our little girl is due here any minute, I hope we have a great day , usually Tuesday's are our off day since I haven't seen here for three days.
I had chemo yesterday, it went well, I was feeling pretty puney last night but this morning is good so far.
Yesterday afternoon we went to see Spiderman on the IMAX, we were bummed when we found out that the IMAX was broken so we stayed and saw it on the regular screen. Gary and I both though Spidey was excellent!!! and we will go back to see it on the IMAX because it was that good.
I've been reading Julia Quinn books I love her story telling she can move to laughter and tears in a matter of minutes.

Times are changing

Well life is always full of changes, we are not moving, we decided that the drive was just to far for Gary to do every day, we really wanted to move but sometimes you just have to be practical. So we are going to stay here for awhile until the right home comes around. I'm sitting here watching Tony Blair, announce his stepping down as Prime Minister, it is so sad he is a great leader. England will miss him as we will.
This week chemo's have gone well, it seems that Monday and Tuesday are my worse day's. I am now starting to have the achie muscles and very sore joints. They say it is very normal.....

May Day

Well I'm back, I started a new round of chemo three weeks ago and so far it is going great, I have been nauseated but not sick and tired but that's not bad. Gary and I made a decision this weekend we are moving to a small town about 126 miles from KC we have been talking about it for the past two years and we decided were going to do it and quit putting it off.
I have been babysitting our friends little girl, she is so precious I've included a picture of Gary and KG that was taken a week ago....she has brought so much joy to our home when she is with us... I hope everyone is doing great and that all your projects are going well. I'm reading a great book by Catherine Anderson the title is "Baby Love" so far I have laughed , cried and smiled all thru the reading, Catherine is a great writer if you get a chance check out some of her books they are great.

Well it has been awhile since I last checked in, Gary and I have been great we went on vacation a few weeks ago and we had a blast while we were on vacation I got a tatto, something I have always wanted and I finally we ahead with it. I just love her she is a fairey very pretty... I hope all of you are doing well. I had a whole bunch of tests this week to see if the cancer has returned I'll know more next week. Friday Night

Well it is cold here 19 degrees and dropping , we have had a mixture of ice and snow today with lot's of ice...so glad I don't have to drive in this stuff. I'll try to take some pictures tomorrow I love the way the world looks in an ice sculpture. Gary is at work , hopefully when he come's in tomorrow the roads won't be bad.
I am feeling good, I seem to be tired always but then I find that this is normal. We are still in the planning stages of what car we are going to purchase and when but I know it will be some time this year. We are still deciding on where we want to go on vacation too. Were divided on either a two week cruise or going to Glazier National Park which is up North close to Canada or maybe it's in Canada I'm not sure. I hope everyone has a great weekend I'll check in again on Sunday...

It's a cool fall like Sunday here in Missouri, it sure doesn't feel like winter, not that I'm complaining thou Gary would tell you that I keep wishing for snow, I can't help it I like snow especially since I don't have to drive in it. Yesterday Georgene and I went to see DreamGirls it was wonderful, the music was great and boy can Jennifer Hudson wail, her voice gave me goose bumps, the story plot was a little weak but the performances from all the actors made up for it. So if you want to see a good film I recomend it highly.
Gary is working today and I am on my way to Borders hoping to find some good books on sale wish me luck and I'll drop back in later and report how my book spree went..

Happy New Year everyone, life here is going great~~I received great news from the doctor all my test are coming back with excellent results, so we are celebrating and I'm looking forward to gaining my strength back and hopefully going on a nice Holiday with Gary in the near future. I am happy to report that we had a wonderful Christmas, we spent it with Jayne and Denny and the kids, it was so nice being there with them, I wish there was a way that they could move back home, it sucks when transfers take you away from family and friends at least there only 8 hours away so that's not to bad of a distance.
I hope all of you had great holiday, we ate to much and I probably gained 10 pounds in a week from all the rich food but it only comes around once a year so I enjoyed and now I'm back on eating healthy...
I've been reading some Christine Feehan books, she is a great story teller right now I'm into Vampires and Werwolfs. Ha!!! to funny nothing serious for me..
Michele is due anytime now , I can't wait to see there little one, I am looking forward to baby sitting I know I am going to have a great time, I love children...
The pups are still entertaining me they are so funny they are always running around and fighting with each other just like brothers and sisters do.

Happy Holidays

I can't believe how much time has gone by since I last wrote, I have been on a reading frenzy and haven't been spending much time on the computer. Shame on me. I have been working on my geneology and have traced back my Grandma Loveless family to the 1600's now it's getting more difficult as the census did not have as much information available later back. I still haven't been sewing all of my stuff is in the garage and it is hard to get too. Hopefully in 2007 my sewing studio will be complete and I will have plenty of room to spread out. I love this time of year, all of the great food, wonderful family and friends being around that is what is most important. I hope we can all remember why we celebrate this time of year and be thankful for what we have.
Last weekend we had a few friends over for a Mexican Fiesta I think everyone had a great time and I hope we will do it again next year. I don't know about any of you but I still have a little shopping to do, I just can't believe how fast Christmas has snuck up on me. Here are a few pictures of our tree.. Huggles Tina

Winter is starting to arrive, we had a beautiful day today it was in the 70's but by this time tomorrow we will be in the middle of a winter advisory, they are saying cold and ice....I am so happy that I don't have to drive in any of this anymore. We had a quite holiday, Gary had to work and I stayed home and watched the telly, we were invited to some friends for dinner but I wasn't feeling to social that evening so thought I should stay home. I have been tired but at least I can take a wee nap and then feel right as rain for a little while if not longer. I am still having a bit of pain and discomfort but it is to be expected, so I don't dwell on it, for it's not such a big deal, since I am alive and kicking as they say.
We decorated the house for Christmas, I just love the holiday season with all the music and Christmas tree's ..../
I wish I could say I have been sewing but for some reason I just can't get in the mood it is driving me crazy but I look at a piece of fabric and nothing comes to me...Oh well maybe another day... Well I best get down stairs and sit with the pups Gary is trying to sleep and they keep barking... Good Night for now... Hey Lily I received my books today so I will be starting soon. and Penni give our little Lily a big hug and kiss from me...

I guess the good news is that it has been pretty quite here..Last night it was in the low 20's so it seems as if winter is on it's way. I have been working on our Christmas shopping, Chris and I went on Friday we sure did find some cute things for everyone. I love this time of year but I also don't like it, I miss my family even thou we don't always do a lot. What I really miss is when I was a little girl and would go visit my grandma and grandpa and all my cousin's would be there and we would play, or we would go to my Auntie Wilma's and Uncle Jack's and play and eat and then play some more...We have some wonderful cooks in my family and the food was always to die for... I miss those day's of being care free and never having to worry about sickness. Sometimes not often I wish I could back to being a little girl and taking care of Shelena, having the same friends that I had all thru grade school ...But now I am a big girl and I do love my life most day's but you know you sometimes just miss those old ways that won't ever be again.. I hope all of you are enjoying our fall weather and my sweet dear friends in Australia I hope your spring is beautiful. Hugs to All

Hi everyone, Life here is going good, I went to the doctors on Monday and so far all is looking well after the surgeries. We're still in our holding pattern which is fine with me. We haven't been up to too much, I have been working on researching our geneaolgy and studying about the sixteenth century. I am having a good time. I still g'et pretty tired but it's not the kind where you want to sleep it's just there. You all would be proud of me I have been going to the gymn 5 times a week and everyday the exercise is getting easier and I am actually enjoying it.
Has anyone read any good books lately? I seem to be in a reading mood right now and I am going thru at least a book a day sometimes two. I just can't seem to get enough. If anyone wants to share with me their favorite Authors I would enjoy hearing from you.
As far as sewing goes I haven't been doing much but I am learning how to knit right now, Penni sent me a wonderful beginners kit and some gorgeous yarn that she dyed. I am having fun with it. I am making a shawl to wear here in the house when I get a little chilly.
Today is beautiful we are having an Indian Summer it's 81 degrees , so lovely I am sitting out side enjoy the beautiful day.
Well I guess I'll go for today.....May you find joy in your life and appreciates all that is around you.

It's been a quite week here, I've been tired but happy. This week I saw my heart specialist, I have some fluid around my heat again but we are just going to monitor it for now and see what happens. This week we have been enjoy a nice soft rain that is able to soak into the ground nicely which we need, they say by this weekend we should be in the seventies again, I love this time of the year. I haven't been sewing ,with my room all tore up ,I just can't find anything so I give up and I'll just work on my hand quilting and reading.. I just love it. I feel so fortunate to have this beautiful home we are very lucky. I decided that I am going to start attending a support group for Ovarian Cancer here in Kansas City, I am finding that I really need to be with other women who have and are going thru what I have gone thru. Sometimes I feel a little isolated which is weird since I have such great friends who support me. Well it's getting late so I'm off to bed..

Well it's October 18th, I haven't been a very good blogger lately. I am hoping to get back into the swing once again. I hope everyone is doing great! Gary and I have been working on the house we still have little things that still need to be finished before my girl friends baby shower were having at our house the the first weekend of November. I had some surgery a couple of weeks ago and I am finally starting to feel better. The weather here has been cold the temp right now is 59 degrees but when I got up this morning to take the pup's to be groomed it was 37, so I guess it's time for fall and soon to follow winter. Growing up in Southern California I never got to experience all for season, which I love the colors of fall always soothe me and remind me of beautiful fall quilt riots of fall colors.
I haven't been doing much sewing, I have been working on quilting a lap quilt that I made for a friend it's about half way done now...I love my new quilt frame, I don't have to pin or baste my quilts any more...
We have a new roof on the house it looks pretty good, so we are set for the snow and rain, we won't have to worry about leaks etc...
I thought I would share a few pictures from my trip to visit my Dad and Mary I had a great time. Oregon is beautiful..The Carosel Horse was carved and painted in Salem Or this is just one of many beautiful horse's and just like little kids we rode them and had a ball.

Friday Day

I had surgery on Wednesday, I am pretty tired and very sore, hopefully in the next few day's I'll be feeling bettter. I've been reading and watching television. I had the nicest visit yesterday from Michelle and Tracy, they brought me some beautiful flowers,food and magazine. I am very lucky to have such good friends. It's been a quite week, otherwise, Gary has been working on my quilting studio this week while he has been home it is coming along nicely. I can't wait to sew in there. I plan on starting Chelsea's T-shirt quilt next week, I know she is going to love it. Not much else has been going on . I am going to load some pictures from Oregon tonight... Hugs Tina

Good Morning it's A Beautiful Day

Well how is everyone today, I am finally geting my self caught up on the house work and I have even done some sewing this week. Right now I'm working on some accent Pillows for the family room. We lost a very special family member this week, we had to put our Sammie to sleep, I miss her, she was such a sweet baby. Bab's and Blueto aren't sure what to do with out her, if I say her name Blueto starts going crazy looking for her, I'm glad that the two pups have each other.
I still need to down load my pictures from my trip to Oregon, I'll try to get to that today and then share them with you...Not much else has been going on. The weather has taken a turn to the cool side today and then were to get a nice warm up on Friday. I haven't had much time to get caught up on my blog reading I thought I would go back and read the last two weeks but I realize that I'll never get caught up so I'll just start fresh today. If I missed anything let me know. Okay I'm out of here I have to go take care of some more laundry..

Hi All, I'm home safe and sound, I had a great trip to Oregon, I loved seeing my family and Oregon was beautiful. Once I get my pictures downloaded from the camera I'll share them. Gary is working on my sewing room and I can't wait for it to be done, were hoping by Thanksgiving that the walls will be up and all that will be left is carpet and tile....
I went to a couple of great quilt shops and picked up some beautiful fat quarters and 2 yards of the most beautiful oriental fabric I can't wait to work with them both..... I haven't read anyone 's blogs in the past two weeks so I'll be catching up with all of you this week. Hugs tina

Okay I give up, my templates keep getting all messed up I'm not sure what's going on I don't know very much about HTML so I guess I'll go back to bloggers templates that they offer maybe at least I won't loose my information like I have this week. I haven't even attempted the beta version for fear of more of a mess.
I've had a great week, all of my doctor visits have gone great and for now I am free and won't need to take any chemo for awhile , we won't say I'm in remission because of the type of cancer and it's way to soon but that's okay I'm going to enjoy my time to get healthy right now. I started going to the gymn again two weeks ago and I am enjoying every bit of it..I go in the mornings and it's not very busy and I can take my time on the machines. I have been working on the treadmill and I'm up to three miles which is great for me...
I'm sitting outside watchig the humming birds feed at our feeders we have out for them, they are so funny they hate the bees trying to get their nectar and they are squeaking up a storm.. It's so weird we have the feeders out all summer and we only seem to get hummers in the late summer. I'm glad they come to visit ,we enjoying them . This year we have also had some beautiful finches their yellow colors are so vibrant. I think this winter I'm going to work on an applique bird quilt, it will be a nice project while we are watching movies or sitting by the fireplace.
I keep taking my camera with me when were out and about but I always forget to take pictures it makes me so mad.
I leave for Oregon in a week, I'm so looking forward to the trip, it will be great to see my dad and stepmom, the weather should be perfect and if it's raining so what I like the rain...:>)

We have had beautiful rain showers this morning, we so needed this moisture. I love listening to the rain fall on the roof it is such a peaceful sound to me. This morning has been a lazy one I talked to my sister on the phone and Gary has been playing on the computer and now he is taking a nap while am cleaning the oven thou I don't have to do anything but turn it on, it is stinky . Later today I am going to make Meatball's to take to Bonnie's for the party , I was going to make a meatloaf cake but I decided it wasn't very good finger food. Here is a picture of my snack today fresh from our friends garden, I just love fresh tomatoes... I am still working on my log cabin I should have a picture of the top by tomorrow to share with you. Doctor Visit

I went to see Doctor Hoskins the other day, we had good news that the tumor has shrunk significantly, it has gone from softball size to egg and will continue to shrink so this is great, I will see Dr Hunter on Monday and will see what she has to say, I do need to see a Kidney Specialist , they found a mass in my kidney and they aren't sure what it is and what to do about it, hopefully it is just a stone that can't pass and will be able to take care of it with the water bath and not surgery, Doc was surprised that I wasn't in more pain than I am but I told him I'm tough and have lived with much pain for over a year and it takes a lot to get me going. I'm not in remission but I am doing very well and I know I will continue to do so...I'll post a picture of my sewing project later today....Hugs Tina

It's been a fairly quite week, I finished up all my test's to see if my cancer is in remission we should know something by the end of next week. We are still waiting on our furniture to be delivered by Nebraska Furniture it now looks like part of it will be delivered on the 24th and the rest the end of September if were lucky. We do have our new theater seating in the family room it's just awsome, very comfey and the chocolate brown goes with the new wall color. Today were off to look for a love seat to go with the theater chairs a sofa is going to be to big. A friend of ours is going to take all of our old furniture for his basement. Well I'll write a little more tonight to let you know how we did with the loveseat hunt..

Thunder and Lightening

Well I think the rain might be coming there is plenty of thunder and some lightening so we can only hope...Gary set up our surround sound speakers they sound so awsome I'm listening to Sissel in concert right now on PBS and her voice is crystal clear thru our Bose system it has been a long time since we had everything set up because of the remodeling it's nice to get things out again it's like greeting an old friend with the excitment of something new. I went over to Matt and Stef's new home yesterday it is so cute and they have done a great job on the inside I am so proud of them.. I didn't get any sewing done this weekend but hopefully tomorrow I will have time to work on my quilt. We did go to the movies today we saw Monster House we really enjoyed the animation it was in 3D and wonderful...Well that's about it for now....

I love my dogs but sometimes they can make the biggest messes. Bab's found batting and decided to drag it upstairs and tore it up.... then as I'm cleaning it up Blueto thinks it's a game and starts running around with pieces ugh! Sometimes it is just to much(she says with a smile) . Today I ran around finishing up some errons. Then it was off to look at furniture I went to a nice family owned store here in Blues Springs, they had some lovely furniture but it just wasn't what we were looking for, so tomorrow I'll be off to check out a couple of more local stores.
I don't have any pictures to share tonight, I finished the last book in my trilogy it was a great story Nora Roberts is one of my favorite authors.
Next week is my big week of Test's and then the following week I should have all the results, hopefully we will find that the tumor has shrunk or better yet is gone, I still have some pain but nothing like it was before. I am off now to watch a movie TTYL....Huggles Tina

Well it's a hot one here today, I don't mind the heat but I hate the humidity...I went on a little outing today and didn't get lost , I was so proud of myself. :>) I went out to Nebraska Furniture Mart today and looked at furniture and pictures, I had a good time, it's nice just window shopping and dreaming of what I want for our house.
I have been sewing on the Log Cabin and it's almost done I can't wait to show all of you.... Not much going on this week...

Busy Week

I'll try to catch everyone up on this week, sorry I havent' posted I have been trying to stay off the computer, I seemed to always be on it and I just wasn't getting anything accomplished like my Log Cabin quilt that I am still working on. Gary took a couple of day's off this week and we worked on the family room we painted it a beautiful Safari Tan (Ralph Lauren Paint) I love the color it really warms up the living room. We also purchased some new drapes and they look wonderful, the pictures are of the family room in
it's new glory.
On Thursday I sub at Bunco which was at Gerogene's house , I had a great time, it was a great no thinker game and the company was enjoyable... and last night after painting all day (which looks great but the wall's took two coat) we went over to Ron and Georgene's for dinner which we hadn't done in a long while we had a great evening... Really that is about all to my week. Oh I forgot I did make my freezer pickles and they turned out great.

Gary was off today it's the first Sat. in I can't tell how long that he has a day off on the weekend. It has been a pretty busy day, we replaced all the hardware on the kitchen cabinets, I completed my refines work on all the cabinets, and Gary installed our new entry way light fixture. I have put the new photos in my web shots album in the house folder. I can't believe how long it takes to complete projects but were getting there soon the house will be ready to have friends over again.
I made a special dinner for Gary's Birthday last night, he wanted Beef Stroganuf and a cheery cobbler..It turned out great. It is nice to feel good enough to cook again.. Not much else is going on so I'll write more tomorrow....

July 26th

Tomorrow is Gary's birthday, poor baby will have to work but I am planning a nice dinner for him on Friday, I told him he can have what ever he wants , will see what he chooses. I'm pretty sure I am going to make him something pretty delicous for desert ,he told me to choose what evr I want.
We were visiting Gary's folks , Mom is doing great after her surgery, I can't believe how well she is doing...
It has been a pretty quite day all around, tomorrow the insurance adjuster is coming to look at our roof again, we have some hail damage and wind damage from several bad storms over the past few months, I can't believe how many summer storms we have had.
As for sewing projects I worked on my girl friends lap quilt, it is a funky log canin I'll take a picture when I have it put together I am hoping she will like it, it is a little different with the fabric choice's I have made.

Sunday Evening

What a beautiful Sunday I had, I visited with my neighbors sharing our garden with them. That is one of the nice things about having a garden you can share it's abundance with others. I also worked on cleaning out my clutter, you know when you don't feel good you tend to just put things aside and plan to get to it another day, well a year later I am finally getting to those long ago papers. I did a lot shredding today and tomorrow I will go thru my cook books and decide what I want to keep and what I will trade at the second hand bookstore.
I signed up today for Beth Moore's evening class The Life of Daniel for Women, I'll be with some of the girls from work it will be nice to visit with them again, I miss our friendship. I feel so lucky to have all the good friends in my life. The Lord has truly Blessed Me........
I was able to also sew some on the Lap Quilt I am making for my friend , I hope when I am done she will like it.... May our Heavenly Father Keep all of you safe this evening....

Perfect Day for enjoying the out doors and chucking corn, Gary and I chucked 72 ears of corn, blanhced it and froze it, I just love our Food Saver it makes freezing everything so easy, we did have one tiny problen the corn was so juicey that when we sucked the corn down the juice went everywhere and the bags wouldn't seal so we froze it first and then bagged it and sucked it down; we should have enough corn to get us thru the winter. I was telling Gary that it is so nice to be feeling good most of the day, I get tired but it is not until late afternoon , I can take a nap and get my second wind. Also I haven't had very much pain in the past week, which is such a relief, now if I can just get rid of this summer cold I would be in Heaven.

Friday Rain

The heat spell has broken and we received much needed rain today. God has opened up the heaven's and gentle rain has been falling since about 3am this morning. I have added pictures to my to most of the albumns, in my House Albumn you will see our three new light fixtures one for the dinning room, kitchen table light and the coolest light is our handblown art glass pendant over the sink take a look it sure is pretty.
I am getting caught up on the laundry , so tomorrow I will be able to sew and not feel guilty about it.
Today I went to our farmers market and purchased 36 ears of corn to blanch and freeze, Gary said he will help me schuck all of it so it should go pretty fast. I love fresh corn in the winter and this is a way we can enjoy it... I am also going to be making a new kind of salsa tomorrow it's a sweet salsa made with watermelon and pinapple , I'll let all of you know how it turns out. Here is a picture of me with our Sunflowers they are way taller than me.
I love musical I don't know if you all know that about me, but I love the theater and musicals are my favorite,while I am journaling I am also watching "The Producers" I love Nathan Lane and Matthew Brodreick they are so funny.

The weather is just beastly today, it is very warm, thank goodness for ac. We had a nice day, we celebrated Dejuan's 40th Birthday by going to the movies(Pirates of the Caribbean)I thought it was pretty good I would watch it again. Then we went to dinner at a wonderful Italian Resturant that is a buffet the food was excellent. I love spending evenings with friends. For the rest of the week I am going to stay home and relax and maybe call a girl friend and see if she would like to get together for dinner tomorrow...I still need to work on the pictures from our trip to Minnesota, sounds like a good project for Thursday....

I thought I would update everyone on my cancer treatment. I finished my radiation treatments in June and I have a two month break of no treatment. I am feeling better each day and my immune system is still on the low end of health, I seem to catch everything very easily. I have had a bad summer cold and it just seems to have hung on forever, I have been to the hospital several times, placed on antibiotics and I think I am now finally on the mend. Next week I will see Dr Hunter(Gyn oncologist) and the following week I will see my heart specialist . In August I will return to Dr Hoskins(Radiation Oncologist) to see how well the treatment has worked, I hope it will have been sucessful, I am prepared for what ever life has in store for me... The Good Lord has blessed me with such wonderful family and friends .....Well that's about it for me today

It is a very warm day and I have just finished watering all the plants outside, our poor tomatoe plants are doing poorly they have some kind of disease that kills them from the bottom up, so it doesn't look like I am going to get much canning done, I guess I will go to the farmers market and pick up some vegetables tomorrow.
I just got back from a trip to Minessota, we went their for a friends wedding, we had such a great time the wedding was beautiful, it was out doors, on a farm that had a barn that had been converted into a reception hall. It was so warm out that we sweated most of the evening, there wasn't any ac in the barn and I haven't ever seen mesquito's that big...

I am finally starting to feel better, no coughing last night and can breathe thru my nose again..Yeah!! I hate colds. I am almost done reading Glorious Appearing, I have enjoyed the Left Behind Series and it is a keeper.....I won't be taking it to the second hand book store....I have been watching Cheryl Crow on the Tday Show today she sounds wonderful and she is looking great for just going thru cancer treatment it looks like she didn't loose any hair amazing....My hair is starting to come in now and it is all spikey, I think I look funney but everyone else likes it.... Well I am off to finish the laundry.

The weather is beautiful today it was 87 degrees but very little humidity so it feels great outside....I have a horrible cold that I don't seem to be able to get rid of.....I haven't sewn a thing in at least three weeks I hope I can get back in to the mood again because once I get started I love it.
Our new dinning room furniture will be here the first of August we purchased a buffett, china cabinet and table with six chairs, they are very pretty and I have fallen in love with the whole set.....

The weather has been warming up and it's a hot one today right now at 7pm it's 92 and Sunny.......
Yesterday was busy busy but oh so fun, I went with Melba for her final fitting and bar a few minor mishaps it is a gorgeous fit...She is going to be such a beautiful bride. Dear hubby ran around today with De Juan, they picked up there tuxes and ran around town all day shopping etc... I decided I had better stay home and rest up because the next two days are going to be busy ones... Jayne and Denny will be here tomorrow evening so it will be a fun weekend for all of us...
I found the cutest outfit yesterday for the wedding a beautiful white skirt with black embrodiery with a black top I just love it...Hopefully it looks as nice on me as I think, Gary wasn't to sure if he liked it at first but in the end said he did..We will have pictures taken so I'll post them on Sunday.
Gary is on vacation , it will be nice to have him home for the week........

The weather today is absolutely wonderful it's 81 degrees and mild humidity, just the way I like it.
I worked out in the rose garden today dead heading and treating my babies for black spot, we have had very little rain so I'm not sure how the black spot developed, hopefully I have caught it in time. I have had a great weekend, yesterday I went to"Rustic Yearnings" one of my favorite quilt shops and I bought the pretteist fat quarters, I think I am going to make a purse out of them...Here's a picture of them and my new Home Spun mag..From Aussie down under......

This week has been so so, not much has been going on. Gary has worked all week and I think all I have done is clean house, laundry, and garden.....I have sewed a little but not enough to make a dent so I need to get motivated. I have been very tired and I have been taking a bunch of naps.
We finally got some rain yesterday, we needed it , it has been so dry our lawn has already gone dormat. Our Vege garden is looking great , we are going to have a bumper crop of tomatoes this year I can't wait. Yesterday I got my favorite quilting magazine in the mail, "Fons and Porter" the quilts in this months issue are wonderful I think I am going to try my hand a couple of them.....Well I guess that's all for now... Oh I forgot to tell you that I went to see my oncologist yesterday and so far everything is looking good, of course will know more in a few months....but I have the next two months free of all doctor appointments...Yeah!!!!!

Not Feeling Good

Gosh I haven't posted in awhile, I haven't been feeling to good, I think I have a little virus I have been running a low grade fever for a couple of days and I have had an upset tummy and bottom, it hasn't been fun ....I hope I am on the down side of this. I really haven't been sewing very much, Sammie has been having accidents in my sewing room and I just hate going in there now, it seems like all I ever do is clean up after her, I know it's because she is getting old but it is very frustrating. I guess the good thing is there is no carpet or expensive flooring down there it's just a concrete floor in our basement so I am thankful for that.
I am hoping tomorrow to sew some log cabin blocks but I'll be moving all my stuff into the garage so I don't have to mess with the basement....Gary has offered to convert garage into a sewing studio for me if I want him to it will give me a lot more room so that I can spreat out more I told him I would think about it... I am hoping that we are going to pick out our dining room furniture in the next few weeks I know what I am looking for I just need to find all the pieces I want a China Cabinet and a side board as well as the table seating 8 .......

Well summer is here to stay, we are having a very beautiful sunny day. I love this weather I just wish it would stay in the high 80's and not get near the 100's. I was out in our vegetable garden and found our first cucumbers there not ready to pick yet but there getting close. The garden looks like it needs to be watered but I will have to do it in the morning as our evening's are prone to high humidity and we don't want to encourage any disease. This Saturday , a bunch of my girl friends and I are going to go on a Master Garden Tour of 10 homes in our area, I think it is going to be fun and I plan on taking a bunch of pictures which I'll share with all of you.
On other news I am finished with my radiation, so now it is the wait and see time, I'll meet with Dr Hunter at the end of this month and then in August I'll see Dr Hoskins and will know if the radiation has done what it needs to. It is wonderful to be finished with all this treatment for now and to have some time to get my health built back up....I expect it will take a while but I'm up to the challenge....Well I'm off to make some dinner so I'll write more later......

Well we had a combo day today weather wise, it was raining when I got up this morning and then by late afternoon the sun was shining and very beautiful the temps haven't been bad today either.
I had a nice day just watching a couple of movies and cartoons , then I worked on laundry and cleaned the kitchen...I have been catching up on some sewing projects also but I'm no where near ready to share it with all of you yet. :-) I think I need to have Gary look at my lap top the space key seems to get stuck if I am typing a bunch. Well I think Lily is right and that my graphics just might be to big of a file for blogger I think I will give it another day or two before I use one of their templates again. I have thought about going to word press several times but just haven't wanted to put the time into it but I think that since google took over Blogger that we have been having more issues than before I love this system thou it is so easy to use..Oh Well I'll wait like I said and see what happens.
As far as today has gone I have been pretty tired but I only have two more weeks of radiation so there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Then we will wait two months and I'll have another CT Scan done to see if the radiation has worked so let's keep our fingers crossed and prayers going...

The day of the sleepies

Have you ever woke up in the morning and felt like you needed to go right back to sleep that's me today. I didn't sleep well last night. I think the radiation is starting to take it's toll on me and I am definitely getting tired of the drive going twice a day isn't fun thou the radiation it's self is pretty easy. I need to clean the house and do some laundry so when I get back from my afternoon radiation appt. I will buck up and get it done. Gary is on his way home but it looks like he won't be here until 9 tonight so that will give me plenty of time.
It has been raining here for the past three days off and on the plant's are growing like weeds, poor Gary tomorrow he will be mowing grass an inch high hopefully it will be dry enough to mow. The temps have been in the mid 80's with high humidity. Well I guess I had better go to my afternoon appt....TTYL Tina

Memorial Weekend

Well we have had a great weekend, we didn't do much, Saturday Gary worked in the yard and I cleaned house then off to work he went and I spent most of Sunday by myself working on a lap quilt and more laundry I'm not sure where all the dirty clothes come from I swear they just multiply.....Sunday evening was nice I went over to our friends for a BBQ and spent time eating and playing crocet(sp) actually I just watched but that was fun....Today I was suppose to have radiation but since it was a holiday I didn't have to go as th e office was closed. So tomorrow I will begin again.....I have been very tired from the radiation it just creeps up on me when I least expect it, I am glad I can take naps when I need to. I still need to get out into the yard and take some pictures of our garden to show all of you how much it has grown...

It's a Hot One

It looks like today we are going to break the record for the warmest day ever on May 27th right now it's 95 and climbing, my poor plant's aren't sure how to react up until a few days ago it had been so cool. I got up early this morning and watered all the plant's and took the dogs for walks before it was to warm. When it's a little cooler this evening I will go outside and take some pictures of our flowers and garden I love this time of year because it's always so green and lush.
I finally got Weze's Round Robin sent off today the picture above is what I added to it I hope she likes it. Now on to Tami's round and the next commission quilt(T-Shirt)...I am having so much fun working on these. Well I am off to the grocery store I'll write more tonight....

Sunflowers on the Kansas Prairie

Well I have finally changed my blog design it has taken me a while to find one that I liked especially since I don't have much knowledge on HTML. Life is Good

Today has been in the 90's a little warm for me but our sun flowers we planted are loving it. Radiation is going great I am half way thru so now we are on the down hill decline. I will find out in mid June if I need to do any chemo in the next coming months, we are hoping that I will get a little break from it .....so we are keeping our fingers crossed.
I haven't been doing very much this week a few chores , lot's of laundry, trying to catch up from last week and taking lot's of naps.
The picture above is of the monster quilt all finished. Chelsea just loved it I am so glad it was such a big hit.

Monday Afternoon

Today has been a long day so far, I have been very tired and not feeling to great. Gary has been home for the past few days and he has been taking great care of me. We had a wonderful day Saturday , Stef was a beautiful bride and Matt was very handsome. The reception was great the food was good and the music was great I even danced a little which was fun. We saw a few old friends who we hadn't seen in awhile which was fun. I ended up going home around 10:30pm and everyone else arrived back here at the house around 1am, then we all ended up getting up around 8am and went to Cracker Barrell for breakfast , Yummy food. I just got home from radiation, Dr H says everything is going good. I'm just about ready to go back in and start quilting the monster, we had to open the ping pong table and move my sewing machine upstairs into the garage so that I can have enough room to quilt. This is the largest quilt that I have ever attempted I am keeping my fingers crossed that it will look more beautiful once the quilting is done...I'll check in later today.....Huggles

Hi it's a beautiful Sunday, Happy Mothers Day to all my family and sweet friends. Mothers day is so special, it is a wonderful way to show our Mom's at least once a year how much we love them. I always try to write a special note, create a special card and just tell my Mom and Mom In-law (who is Mom to me also) how special the they are and how fortunate I am to have them in my life.

I'm sitting here watching Little People Big World , I really enjoy watching people interact together. I got the quilt sandwiched today and will start quilting it tomorrow, I think it will look super nice . Jayne and Denny made it here around 3:30 this afternoon, there staying with Jayne's brother so Gary and I went over to see them as soon as they got in..It is so nice to have them home I miss them so much , especially since I've been sick. We came home early, Gary needed to take a nap before he goes to work and I needed to rest also....
The dogs have been driving us crazey all they do is bark continuously. I'm not sure what is going on with them but I think we are going to have to get them bark colloars. I feel so bad but our ears and our neighbors ears are going deaf. Babs has some how learned this high pitched bark that hurts your ears.
Nothing else has been going on, the wedding is exactly a week away Jayne will be going nut's next week and I think Stef will be too.

International Machine Quilters Meet

Well my news for the day is that this week in Overland Park the International Machine Quilters are having their annual meeting and I am signed up for a class on the Nolte Hobby Quilter and I will probably take another class but I'm not sure what it will be on, there is so much to choose from and of course I didn't know about the convention until this weekend so many of the classes are already closed. I am working on the monster quilt again today pictures are coming...

Work Work Work

Well after a long day of resting and sewing the day has come to an end..The Memory quilt is coming along I should be able to take a picture of it by tomorrow. I'm sitting here watching "Sea Biscut" I just love this movie, very uplifting. Gary should be going to work in a few hours so I'll be sewing all day on Sunday hopefully I will have started the quilting by then.
I can't believe how cold it is, we had summer in April and May is cold and wet. Ugh! I just don't seem to be able to get warm. I'll come back and write more later......Huggles

Thursday Night

Hi it's been a few days since I last wrote, I'm doing pretty good I have just been working on the memory quilt and going to doctor appointments. We got the pet scan back and the results were great we only have cancer in the one area and this is the area we are going to be using radiation. I will start that next week.
I am watching a wonderful PBS show called Texas Ranch it is so informative it's about living at the highth of 1867 cowboy days if you ever get a chance you should watch it.
Today Gary and I went to my old office he had his teeth cleaned and I visited with the girls it was a pretty good morning.

Productive Day

This was a pretty nice day, Gary was home for most of the day he had to go back to work tonight so we were bummed, he wanted to lay off but he has a dentist appointment on Thursday and needs to be home for that since he is way over do and still has a tooth ache. I worked on the famous memory quilt most of the day, I still have the sashing to do but I am hoping to be quilting this baby starting Thursday , wish me luck I still need to take a picture of it.
Tomorrow is the big day we will be do the simulation for the radiation and were hoping the PET Scan results will be here tomorrow also.. I have been feeling fairly good the past few days , thank goodness for great medications that make you feel good.
My sister called to tell me that my niece won her basketball game on Saturday so far her team is undeafted........Were so proud of her.......That sweet husband of mine had his work cut out for him today the grass was so high but he managed to get it mowed and all the weed eating was accomplished . So now it can rain again. Well I'm off to bed ...Hugs ((())))
